Lighting Design Services for Commercial, Industrial, Sports and Architectural LED Projects
PowerLed helps contractors, architects, project managers and building owners plan lighting schemes that meet required light levels, improve safety, reduce energy use and support long-term maintenance.
Available at no charge as part of a genuine project enquiry where PowerLed products are being considered for the final scheme.
A successful lighting project is not just about choosing a fitting with the right lumen output.
Before any product is recommended, the space needs to be understood. That involves knowing where the fittings can be installed, what light levels are required and whether glare, shadows, poor uniformity or wasted energy could affect the final result.
A lighting project can look simple at first, but the final outcome depends on details such as the size and shape of the space, mounting heights, surface finishes, working tasks, safety requirements, user comfort, glare, controls, energy consumption, maintenance access and future upgrade options.
We review the site conditions and provide a clear proposal with design outputs, product recommendations and quotation support. This may include reviewing drawings, dimensions, ceiling heights, mounting positions, existing fittings, site photographs, working tasks, usage patterns, control requirements and energy-saving targets.
The goal is not simply to add more light. It is to achieve the right light levels, in the right places, in the most efficient and practical way for the space.
Our DESIGN PROCESS
Discovery
We need to understand the space, the installation conditions and the intended use of the lighting. This may include drawings, room dimensions, ceiling heights, mounting positions, existing fittings, site photographs, working tasks, usage patterns, required light levels, control requirements and energy-saving goals.
For retrofit projects, we can also review the existing lighting to identify what needs to improve, from poor light levels and uneven coverage to high running costs or difficult maintenance.
Consultation
We collaborate with the contractor, architect, project manager or specifier to shape the scheme around the real use of the space. This is where we consider compliance, safety, glare, uniformity, controls, energy consumption, installation practicality, maintenance access and future upgrade potential.
Some projects need a simple and reliable lighting upgrade. Others need dimming, occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, scene control, colour control or a phased approach that allows upgrades later.
Results
The final stage gives you a clear design proposal that helps move the project from enquiry to approval, quotation and installation.
Depending on the project, this can include a lighting design report, visual simulations, lux level calculations, fitting recommendations, control options, energy-saving opportunities and a quotation based on the proposed scheme.
The aim is to give contractors, architects, project managers and end clients a practical document they can review, discuss and use to make confident decisions before products are installed.
How can we help?
PowerLed can help reduce unsuitable product choices, unclear specifications, avoidable installation issues and future maintenance problems.
This can include custom cable lengths, driver access, product positioning, control compatibility, sensor placement, mounting requirements and future replacement or upgrade access.
A clear route from enquiry to installation can typically include a combination of the following: Lighting design report, visual simulations, lux level calculations, product recommendations, control options, energy-saving opportunities, upgrade recommendations ,technical guidance before, during and after the project.
Comfort and user experience
Glare is often overlooked, but it can make a major difference to how a space feels and performs. In a sports hall, glare can affect players tracking a ball, spectators viewing from different angles and staff using the space for long periods. In a warehouse, poor lighting can create shadows around working areas and vehicle routes. In offices, schools and commercial buildings, unsuitable lighting can make a space harder to use comfortably.
In this specific example, this sports hall is a multi-purpose space used for exams as well and our SPORTSBAY fittings are DALI enabled to offer flexibility and control to create a well illuminated space for anyone using it.
Why choose PowerLed for your lighting design?
A good lighting design should reduce uncertainty before anything is ordered, installed or commissioned.
PowerLed combines lighting design support, LED product knowledge, controls expertise and practical installation awareness to help shape a scheme that works on paper and on site.
That means the final proposal is not just a layout. It is a project-led recommendation designed to help contractors, architects, project managers and building owners make better decisions earlier.
Designed around real project conditions
We review the information available, from drawings and dimensions to mounting heights, existing fittings, site photographs and usage requirements, so the proposed scheme reflects the actual space.
Practical product recommendations, including installation requirements
Because PowerLed supplies LED fittings, LED tape, drivers, controllers, sensors and accessories, the design can be linked directly to products that are suitable for the project and available to supply.
Controls considered early
Where the project requires it, we can include control options such as DALI, Casambi, DMX, PIR sensing, daylight harvesting, dimming, scene control, tuneable white, RGB and RGB+W.
Support beyond the report
Our team can support the project before, during and after the design stage, helping with product selection, technical guidance, quotation support, staged upgrades and future maintenance considerations.
PowerLed can guide you with tailored solutions and decades of research and experience.
Custom solutions
PowerLed offers custom LED solutions, from small modifications to fully bespoke designs, ensuring your lighting performs exactly the way you need it to. Whether it’s LED tape cut to length, drivers tuned to your specification, or fittings adapted with added features, we deliver solutions built around your requirements.
